Petition of Sheryl Savill for a Citizens Initiated Referendum
To the House of Representatives, we, the undersigned, pursuant to the Citizens Initiated Referenda Act 1993, ask that an indicitive referendum be held on the following question:
“SHOULD A SMACK AS PART OF GOOD PARENTAL CORRECTION BE A CRIMINAL OFFENCE IN NEW ZEALAND?”
Required amount: 303,000 signatures
Already collected: 100,000 signatures as at 2 April 2007
